Hatch Camp 2017 Happening at Texas A&M-Texarkana
New students at Texas A&M University-Texarkana will be welcomed to campus this fall at Hatch Camp 2017.
The University news release says the camp promises to be an “egg-citing” first-year experience program for incoming Eagles.
At Hatch Camp, a four-day orientation program, first-year students are given opportunities to learn Eagle traditions, make friends and find out more about life at A&M-Texarkana and in Texarkana USA. The camp is led by A&M-Texarkana students and the staff of the Office of Student Life.
In addition to meeting friends and making valuable connections, Hatch Camp provides first-year students with opportunities to ask any questions they may have about life at A&M-Texarkana.
“Hatch Camp is the perfect opportunity to introduce our new students to life as A&M-Texarkana Eagles,” said Celeste McNiel, director of Student Life. “Our goals are to acquaint them with campus expectations and traditions, identify key student resources and how to access them, and create space for healthy social connections. Having the chance to get to know new classmates before classes even begin really makes the first day of classes less daunting for a first-year student.”
