Home Free Serve Up Stunning Keith Urban, ‘Blue Ain’t Your Color’ Cover
A capella group Home Free have made themselves viral for covering modern country hits such as Maren Morris' "My Church" and Thomas Rhett's "Die a Happy Man," and they've just added to their repertoire, giving a Motown makeover to Keith Urban's country hit "Blue Ain't Your Color."
"Blue Ain't Your Color" is the fourth single from Urban's August 2016 album Ripcord, both of which quickly shot to No. 1 on the country Billboard charts. The bluesy tune has become an instant staple for Urban, and Home Free's Rob Lundquist told Fox News the group was immediately interested in recording their own version. Lundquist also notes at the end of the YouTube video, "it’s the most rehearsal we’ve ever done for a video shoot," likely because of the additional choreography.
Bass singer Tim Foust adds, “This whole project was such a team effort. Darren Rust with another incredible arrangement of this song and the extended Home Free family really all came together to make this video possible, so thanks to all y’all.”
The setting for the video shoot includes a gold tinsel background, with all five members of the group standing in a line, each with their own microphone. Tenor singer Lundquist kicks off the lead vocal before baritone Adam Chance steals the spotlight midway through.
