It’s “Run The Line” Weekend In Texarkana
The "Run the Line Half Marathon" and "Kids Run The Line" are this weekend in Texarkana.
The "Kids Run The LIne Too" will take place on Saturday at 4 PM at the Christus St. Michael Campus. This run is for kids from 5 till 12 and parents can participate too. The racers will meet in the imaging center parking lot.
Entry is just $15 and includes a swag bag with a t-shirt medal and other goodies. You can get signed up here. The deadline for entering is Friday.
Texarkana’s "Run The Line" Half Marathon is a joint effort by the local nonprofit Partnership For The Pathway and the Team Texarkana Running Club and takes about 500 runners and walkers each year along what one day will become a multi-use pathway for walking, running, biking, and inline skating across the city.
The organizers also say:
This is a unique opportunity to run in one race that goes through two states. It goes through both Cities of Texarkana with a short portion of the race on the Arkansas/Texas stateline. The race is primarily on asphalt and includes the Nix Creek Trail, the Phillip McDougal Trail in Spring Lake Park, and city streets.
The "Run THe Line" half marathon will begin in downtown Texarkana at West Broad and Texas Boulevard in Texarkana Texas.
Starting Time
This year it will be the same start time for all participants. The start will be 7:30 AM.
The race organizers had this to say about the start time and location:
Look for Pace Groups with 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, and 2:30 signs at the start. The start is at the intersection of Broad Street and Texas Blvd. The course closes at 11:30 a.m. For participant safety and official race timing, finish the race by 11:30 a.m.
Fees
$85 for the half marathon
$ 80 per participant for the 2 person relay team.
Registration
The deadline for registration is Saturday at midnight. There will be no registration on the day of the event. Full details here.
