Good Tuesday, Here are some stories making headlines today:

Damage is being assessed after yesterdays Severe Storms around the area. Fortunately no major injuries were reported in the wake of the powerful storms that roared through on Monday.  Damage reports came out of Cass and Bowie Counties in Northeast Texas along with Little River, Hempstead, and Columbia counties in Southwest Arkansas.

There were reports of several mobile homes and vehicles damaged along with some chicken houses and plenty of trees and power lines downed during the height of the storms but fortunately only several minor injuries were reported. Severe Weather usually peaks in our area during April & May into early June.

Workers are resuming cleanup efforts at a Southwest Arkansas campground that killed 20 people in a flash flood last spring. Forest officials say a contractor has been hired to remove crumpled asphalt and other damage at the Albert Pike Recreation Area near Langley.

Ouachita National Forest officials plan to lay out future uses for the campground later this spring. The deadly flash flooding occurred on the Little Missouri River on June 11, 2010.

The Texarkana Arkansas City Board of Directors has voted down an ordinance that would have banned all tobacco advertisements in the city. The ordinance was deemed to be too broad and likely could have been challenged in court.

In sports,  the Women's NCAA Basketball Championship game is being played tonight in Indianapolis. Texas A&M is taking on Notre Dame.
