After more than 30 years, a 1994 Jane Doe homicide victim has been identified as Jamie Ann Moore of Conway, finally bringing some answers to her family.

According to the Conway County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police, Moore was 32 years old at the time of her death. Her body was discovered on October 24, 1994. It was found by the railroad tracks near U.S. Highway 64 between Morrilton and Plumerville. The Arkansas State Medical Examiner ruled the case a homicide, but unfortunately, authorities could not identify the remains, which remained unknown for decades.

Then in 2024, Othram Labs began genealogical research that helped identify potential family connections. Investigative Genetic Genealogist Stephanie Wyat was led to a possible relative. After interviewing Moore’s potential daughter and obtaining a DNA sample, authorities were able to confirm it was, in fact, Jamie Moore. The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory then verified the DNA match on February 19, 2026.

Conway County Sheriff Mike Smith said in a press release,

The identification of Jamie Moore marks a significant step forward in this investigation and, most importantly, provides long-awaited answers to Jamie's loved ones.

The homicide investigation remains active. Investigators with CCSO and special agents with ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division continue to review evidence and follow the leads to identify those responsible for Moore's death.
