Jim Weaver’s Christmas Movie ‘Must Watch’ List
You know the old saying; "It ain't Christmas until Hans Gruber falls off Nakatomi Plaza?" I concur. Who's ready for my Christmas Movie list.
5. A Christmas Carol - TV movie from 1984 staring Patton, I mean George C. Scott as Ebenezer Scrooge. I haven't seen this version of the Dickens classic in a long time, but it was very well done and has a ton of great actors in it.
4. Home Alone - Staring Macaulay Culkin(before he was weird), Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Still a fun to watch after all these years, the movie was released in 1990, even though technology has changed, the physical comedy still holds up.
3. The Santa Clause - 1994 release staring Tim Allen as a man who accidentally stumbles into becoming Santa when he puts on the actual Santa's big red coat. Great comedy, a feel-good movie you can watch with the whole family.
2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - The Griswalds meet St. Nick in one of the wildest, silliest Christmas movies you'll ever see. Guaranteed to make you lol.
1. Die Hard - The original Christmas action/adventure blockbuster movie starring Bruce Willis, Alan Rickman, Bonnie Bedelia and Reginald VelJohnson. One of those movies that wasn't about Christmas, it just took place at Christmas-time. Interestingly enough, it was released in July of 1988 but because of it's Christmas theme, it usually airs several times during the month of December. You should be able to find it on a few streaming services too like Amazon, Netflix and Hulu. Rated R, not for the little ones.
Watch out for some salty language in the trailer if you play the whole thing.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas, I hope you get everything you wanted this year.
