Kicker Cup Update – Texarkana City Championship – Week 1

Week 1 is in the books, but this week will either tie things up in the quest for the cup or open up a small lead depending on how that oblong pigskin bounces.

One of the biggest cross-town rivalries I've seen in high school sports is this Friday night right here in T-town! The Texas High Tigers travel to the other side of Stateline Ave. to take on the razorbacks of Arkansas High. The game will be at Razorback Stadium starting at 7 PM. Tickets are $8 each and available at two locations only;

• Arkansas ISD Administration Building
  3435 Jefferson Ave.
• Sullivan Performing Arts Center
  Next to Texas High on Summerhill Rd.

Tickets will not be sold at the game. 

Pleasant Grove is on the road for their first away game of the season vs Henderson, 7:30 PM in Henderson, Texas.

Liberty Eylau is also on the road vs corn-fed Carthage, who won their first game of the season last week 45-0.

For the last 22 years, Kicker 102.5 along with Red River Credit Union have partnered to bring you the huge travelling trophy known as the Kicker Cup to our local Texarkana high schools. As we enter year 23 the winner, as always, is determined by which team has the best overall winning record at the end of the regular football season.

The trophy will be presented during a pep rally at the end of the regular season to the local Texarkana team that has the best regular season record. Who will it be for 2019? Check back here each week to see the updates!
