Local Restaurants to Raise Money Tuesday September 26 For Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Here's a chance to help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and have a great meal at the same time. Schlotzsky’s is having their “Day of Dough Raising Fundraiser” tomorrow Tuesday, September 26. 

According to a press release, both Texarkana Schlotzsky’s  locations (Arkansas Boulevard and Richmond Road) will be taking twenty percent of their net sales tomorrow and will donate it to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The JDRF states:

1.25M Americans are living with T1D including about 200,000 youth (less than 20 years old) and over a million adults (20 years old and older)

Type 1 Diabetes warning signs to watch for include:

• Extreme thirst

• Frequent urination

• Drowsiness or lethargy

• Increased appetite

• Sudden weight loss

• Sudden vision changes

• Sugar in the urine

• Fruity odor on the breath

• Heavy or labored breathing

• Stupor or unconsciousness
