Mark Your Calendar & Enter The 2023 Texarkana Christmas Parade
This year is a big year for Texarkana as the city celebrates its sesquicentennial. The Texarkana Christmas Parade will help celebrate that milestone. Main Street Texarkana announced it is time to get ready for the 39th annual Christmas Parade in historic Downtown Texarkana, USA.
This year’s theme appropriately is “150 Years of Texarkana.” We can all help wish Texarkana a Happy Birthday on Monday, December 4 at 7 PM and celebrate together at the Christmas parade.
Main Street Texarkana director, Ina McDowell stated in a press release,
This year we are celebrating Texarkana’s Sesquicentennial, so the parade theme is 150 Years of Texarkana History. We are very excited to see how parade participants interpret this idea in their floats.
The 2023 Christmas Parade will take place just 4 days before the 150th anniversary of the first sale of Texarkana city lots on December 8, 1873. The parade route will be special too as it curves around the Original City historic district and will pass by some of Texarkana’s oldest structures and most iconic sites.
McDowell also said,
“We want to invite everyone to join us in wishing Texarkana a Happy Birthday. It’s truly amazing to think that Texarkana has been around for a century and a half.
