Miranda Lambert is Forming a Group Called “The Pistol Annies”!

MIRANDA LAMBERT dropped some exciting news last night at the taping of "Girls Night Out:  Superstar Women of Country".

She's been working on a "new project"... which is actually a female country group called the PISTOL ANNIES. It's a trio that includes Miranda, and two ladies named ASHLEY MONROE and ANGALEENA PRESLEY.

Miranda explains, quote, "We've been writing songs like crazy.  I've always wanted to do a girl project, but it's not a typical girl trio.  We definitely have an edge."

There's no word when the "project" will be out... but you can get a taste of what they'll sound like together because they're performing together on the "Girls Night Out" special.  That airs April 22nd on CBS.

One more thing about Miranda Lambert:  You may have noticed she kept hugging some guy sitting next to her at Sunday's ACMs.  Obviously, she was alone because her fiance BLAKE SHELTON was a little preoccupied co-hosting the show.

Anyway, the guy is Miranda's younger brother.  And now that you know, you can try to look for a family resemblance because GAC is going to RE-AIR the ACMs on June 15th.
