Miss Arkansas Sets Eyes on Miss America Crown Thursday Dec 15
Miss Arkansas is at the Miss America Pagent and is in the process of the competitions and interviews this week.
Ebony Mitchell of Harrison, Arkansas was crowned Miss Arkansas back on June 18 making her the 4th black Miss Arkansas. But more history was made that night when she and the Teen Miss Arkansas made history as they both took the crowns, making it the first time that both crowns were won by women of color in Arkansas. Now Ebony is representing Arkansas in the big one, the Miss America Pagent held in Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
On to Miss America Competition
Fifty-one women from across the nation are now in the two preliminary rounds of the competition. The finals will be held on Thursday, December 15.
The talent portion of the pageant was held yesterday December 12 where she performed a tap dance routine where she took some of her cheerleading and tumbling skills from her days at the University of Central Arkansas.
Another preliminary competition is the interview session with the judges. After that, it's the on-stage question and evening gown competition.
Ebony's Social Platform
According to the video below from THV11 her platform for the interview will be on her social impact initiative "A Responsible Digital You." This is about teaching our children about internet safety and online predators. Her reasons are personal as she had a friend who was a victim of an online predator in jr. high.
How to Watch The Miss America Pageant
The Miss America Pageant will be streamed on pageantslive.com for a fee. Starting at 7 PM Central on Dec. 15. Best of luck Ebony and bring that crown home!
