Our thanks to Molly Riley and Mark Bledsoe for coming in Wednesday morning for a chat with Jim & Lisa about the upcoming United Way Campaign Kickoff, which of course this year, has to be virtual.

The Campaign Kickoff is set to begin on the United Way Texarkana Facebook page at 12-noon today, Thursday, September 10.

Both Texarkana city Mayors, Texas-side Mayor Bob Bruggeman and Arkansas-side Mayor Allen Brown, will be there to help get the campaign rolling this year.

Even though 2020 has been a tough year for all of us, it certainly has for our local charities as well. Mark told Jim & Lisa yesterday that our local United Way Texarkana is down $100,000 this year in their fundraising efforts due to the pandemic, and that directly affects the services of 30 organizations that usually benefit greatly from the United Way.

Listen for announcements of an upcoming Golf Tournament, Fish Fry and Rummage Sale.

Of course, you can always make a donation directly to United Way Texarkana through their website, in fact, they even have an incentive for you do just that... TV's! Thanks to Target, the United Way has several 55" 4K TV's to give away to those making pledges online. You can do that at TexarkanaUnitedWay.org.

Get ready, United Way needs your help, so they can help so many other local organizations right here in the Ark-La-Tex.
