According to the website World Atlas, the small town of Siloam Springs, Arkansas located in the western part of Northwest Arkansas has just been named one of the " 8 Best Small Towns to Retire in Arkansas" in 2024.
Siloam Springs offers its residents a suburban feel, most people living here own their homes and parks are abundant for walking or just enjoying outdoor activities with family and friends.
This historic town has one of the oldest buildings still standing in the downtown National Register Historic District the Crown Hotel built in 1881 as the Lakeside. Most of the buildings downtown were built between the arrival of the railroad at the end of 1893 and the beginning of the Great Depression.
Siloam Springs first began getting attention in the late 19th century as a medical tourism destination due to the healing waters of Sager Creek, which runs across the border into Oklahoma. The town is named after the miraculous waters of the Siloam Pool from the bible's New Testament book of John.
Walking tours of downtown are available to learn more about Siloam Springs's history. Numerous antique shops, boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants outline the street making it an ideal place for shopping or just relaxing.
