
Nevada County Depot Museum to Host New Exhibit Honoring Self-Taught Artist Spot Daniel
The Nevada County Depot Museum, just down the road from Texarkana in Prescott, Arkansas, is proud to announce the opening of a new art exhibit that will honor the late Spot Daniel.
The exhibit called Elemental Faces:The Portraits of Spot Daniel will kick off the debut with a reception open to the public from 5 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, September 18, at the old armory building located at 841 Gee Street, in Prescott, Arkansas. Admission is free.
About the Artist
Daniel was a self-taught painter who began his artistic journey at the age of 66. He transformed everyday materials like cardboard, wood scraps, and even rooftops into canvases. His portraits included neighbors, politicians, celebrities, and more.
Through Spot’s Eyes
Depot Museum director Jamie Simmons stated in a press release.
This isn’t just an exhibit—it’s a chance to see the world through Spot’s eyes: playful, peculiar, and profoundly human.
