REBA MCENTIRE, BOBBY BRADDOCK and JEAN SHEPARD are the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Reba is being inducted in the "Modern Era Artist" category... Shepard in the "Veterans Era Artist" category... and Braddock is the first inductee in the "Songwriter" category, which they'll give out every three years. (Again, the writer gets screwed.)

Braddock and Jean Shepard attended an informal ceremony yesterday in Nashville.  Sadly, Reba couldn't make it.  She is in Oklahoma with her father who had a stroke a few days ago, and is currently in a coma.

Reba sent along this message... quote, "I really need to be with my mama and daddy right now.  I know it's where I should be.  Thanks again for this wonderful honor.

"By the way, I told daddy about being inducted two days before he went into the coma.  It's a huge blessing for me knowing how important that was to him.  Love you all, Reba."

The Hall of Fame will do a formal induction ceremony later this year, and we expect Reba will be able to attend that.

(Braddock is the brilliant songwriter who wrote the GEORGE JONES classic "He Stopped Loving Her Today"... and TAMMY WYNETTE'S iconic "D-I-V-O-R-C-E".)

(Shepard is a country music pioneer.  She charted 44 songs between 1953 and 1978, and has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry for more than 50 years.)
