Some Texarkana Area Schools Closed For Another Day Jan 18

As most roads are thawing in and around the Texarkana area there are still a few school districts that have decided to be on the safe side and cancel school today Thursday, January 18.

The roads that thawed yesterday could easily refreeze overnight and these school officials did not want to take any chances. Keeping the safety of students and staff being the upmost importance, and that is a good thing.

The School Districts that are Closed for Thursday, January 18 are:

Atlanta ISD

Bloomburg ISD

Fouke ISD

Geona ISD

Gilles Glod

Hope Public Schools

Redwater ISD

Queen City ISD

What Does the Forecast Look Like for the Weekend and into Next Week?

The forecast for the next few days includes warm temperatures today then another cool down.

Today - gradual clearing skies with a high near 52.
Tonight - Mostly clear, with a low around 24.
Friday - Sunny, with a high near 35. Wind chill values as low as 12
Friday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 17. Wind chill values as low as 10.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 33.

Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 18.

Sunday- Partly sunny, with a high near 36.

Then by Sunday night rain comes back into the forecast with rain expected Sunday night through Wednesday.
