You Get an Extra Hour of Sleep This Weekend as Daylight Saving Time Ends
Remember back in the spring when we all lost an hour of sleep thanks to the time change? Well, good news, you get that hour back this weekend as we return to Standard Time.
I’ll admit, I’m always a little sad to say goodbye to Daylight Saving Time. The days get shorter, the nights get colder, and things can feel a bit dreary. The excitement of summer fades away, and suddenly, the holiday season, with all its stress, will soon start creeping in.

There’s been plenty of talk over the years about ending the time change, but nothing official has happened lately. Several states, including Texas and Arkansas, have passed bills wanting to stay on Daylight Saving Time year-round, but federal law doesn’t allow that. You see, states can opt out of DST altogether, but they can’t make it permanent. (Ugh!)

Personally, I love when we “spring forward.” It always feels like a little preview of summer, longer days, warm evenings, and wonderful kid-like excitement that there’s more time to play.
But, I digress, the time will change back to Standard Time at 2 AM on Sunday, November 2. Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour before bed Saturday night. Remember the saying: “Spring Forward and Fall Back.” Whoever came up with that was a genius.
See you next year, Daylight Saving Time....
