Texarkana College Offers Safety Training for Local Employers
Texarkana College’s TCTexAmericas Center site in New Boston will offer a 40 -hour HAZWOPER and a 40-hour Confined Space course for area Texas businesses and industries in July and the first week of August.
Thanks to a grant from Texas Mutual Insurance, these courses will be offered free of charge, according to a press release.
“This grant provides a great opportunity for local employers to get high-quality training for free,” said Scotty Hayes, TC at TexAmericas Center Director. “Space is limited and first come, first served, though, so I encourage employers to reserve spaces as soon as possible.”
The HAZWOPER course will be limited to the first 30 students. The 40-hour course will run July 10-13 and will save industry partners $628 per student. The Confined Space course will be limited to the first 20 students. This 40-hour course will run July 31-August 3 will save industry partners $943 per student.
