Texarkana Downtown Crosswalks Get Fresh Paint This Weekend
This weekend, October 19, and next weekend, plan for these crosswalks to be blocked off to receive a fresh coat of paint. By the way, these intersections will be closed for 5 days to allow for cure time as well.
Starting Saturday morning, October 19, 2024, the two crosswalks on Pine Street at E. Broad near the Bi-State Justice Building will be closed for sorely needed paint updates,
That means those intersections will be closed to vehicle and foot traffic. Here's the part you didn't know, they will have to remain closed for five days after the painting to allow for the proper cure time. You will still be able to drive on E. Broad St. but you will not be able to turn onto Pine St.
The other two sides of the crosswalks at East and West Broad St will be closed down on Saturday, October 26th, for their updates and will also remain closed for five days to allow for curing and drying. That means that if you are traveling North or South on Pine St. and approaching this intersection, you will not be allowed to turn left or right onto E. Broad for five days after the painting is complete.
