This scam arrives in your email and involves a PDF file. According to a Facebook post from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, the email will look like it is coming from a big well known company like Microsoft, DocuSign or even PayPal the email will have in the subject line, there is an issue or problem of some kind with your account, there will be a PDF file attached to the email. If you open the file it will look legit with company logos and a phone number for customer service.
This is where they get you, the phone number they list for customer service goes straight to a cybercriminal. They will sound professional and to 'help you' with your account, they will ask you to install malware or ask for your login information, banking details or other personal information.
