Two local business employees have been arrested following a months-long investigation into an alleged financial scheme involving more than $400,000.
According to Texarkana Texas Police (TTPD), 43-year-old Jay Freeman and 34-year-old Loren Jones were taken into custody on Wednesday after a six-month investigation tied to Gregg Orr Marine.
Alleged Scheme Spanned Years
TTPD Investigators say Freeman, who served as the business manager, and Jones, the office manager, are accused of manipulating company finances over a period of about five years.
TTPD Detectives worked alongside employees of Gregg Orr Marine to identify irregularities, gather evidence, and ultimately secure arrest warrants.
Both Arrested and Bonded
Both Jay Freeman and Loren Jones were booked into the Bi-State Justice Building Jail on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Authorities say that each was released later the same day after posting $75,000 bond.
Investigation Ongoing
The case remains under investigation. Formal charges and court proceedings are expected as the case moves forward. If you have any information that might be helpful in this or any other ongoing case, the Texarkana Texas Police Department would love to hear from you.
