Texarkana Police Arrest Three Men For Solicitation of Prostitution
Texarkana Texas Police made three arrests earlier this month from an undercover sting operation with the Special Investigations Unit. The undercover operation was focused on people that were seeking services from a prostitute.
Did you know that the Solicitation of a Prostitute is now a felony in Texas? The penalty was increased to a felony in 2021. This was increased in an effort to stop human trafficking.
The TTPD stated on their Facebook page
An officer posed as a homeless person in an area that has shown prostitution activity and waited for potential "johns" to make contact with her. Over the course of the afternoon, three men who were driving through the neighborhood stopped to talk to the undercover officer in separate incidents. Uniformed officers came in after the "deal" was made.
The Texarkana Texas Police arrested three men: 26-year-old Morris Aaron, 55-year-old Daniel Rayborn, and 51-year-old Ricky Woods all men were arrested for Solicitation of Prostitution after they each on separate occasions offered to pay her cash in exchange for sex.
The three men were booked into the Bi-State Jail with a bond set at $3,000 each. Morris Aaron received a second charge of Possession of Marijuana.
The Texarkana Texas police warn that they will be conducting more of these undercover sting operations in the future.
