
Family Fun Night to Kick Off TISD’s New Alongside Mental Health App
Texarkana ISD is proud to announce a brand new mental health app for their students. They are kicking it off with a great night of fun, food and family connection.
Introducing the TISD Alongside App
The App is called Alongside. It is a great tool to help support student mental wellness, communication and academic growth. Students will have access to mental health coaching in a safe and user-friendly environment.

A Night of Family Fun in Texarkana for TISD Families!
The App launch will be held at a Family Fun Night on Friday, August 1, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at the Texas Middle School 6th Grade Center Cafeteria located at 2015 Kennedy Lane in Texarkana, Texas. The event is free and available to all TISD students, families and community members.
Rebekah Wagner, Stronger Connections Grant Project Director, said in a press release,
This is more than just a tech rollout,” said Rebekah Wagner, Stronger Connections Grant Project Director. “It’s about connection, community, and giving families the tools to support students emotionally and academically.
The app will officially launch this fall at Parks Elementary, Texas Middle School and Texas High School.
What to Expect at the Launch Party
At the launch party and family night, there will be an app demo, a video with students giving a walk-through of the app, face painting, games, balloon animals, aphoto booth and arts and crafts. There will also be authentic Latin American food served and giveaways.
The Kiwanis Club and 100 Families/Groundfloor will have booths with helpful information for both students and parents.
TISD families are encouraged to stop by, enjoy the evening activities and find out about this great new app.
