Texarkana Woman Charged For Shooting Man In The Face
Texarkana Texas Police are reporting that a Texas-side woman was arrested on Thursday morning in connection with a shooting and wounding of a Texarkana man.
Texarkana police have placed into custody 34-year-old Ashley Gearlds who allegedly shot a 61-year-old man in the face following an argument with the man. The incident took place in the 1600 block of W. 16th St. about 8:30 Wednesday night according to the police report. Gearlds is reportedly the victim's girlfriend's daughter.
The TTPD report on its Facebook Page said:
Gearlds, 34, was arrested at the scene, and the weapon she used was found lying in the front yard. She was booked into the Bi-State Jail for Aggravated Assault with a Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury (Family Violence) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
The victim, as yet unnamed, was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
