The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is starting a major construction project on Interstate 30 that will impact traffic near Spring Lake Park. Here's what you need to know:

Traffic Changes:

  • Concrete Barriers on Mall Drive: Barriers have been placed on Mall Drive in front of Spring Lake Park.
  • Eastbound I-30 Traffic Diversion: All eastbound traffic on Interstate 30 will be diverted at the Stateline Avenue exit onto Mall Drive.
  • Bridge Replacement: Contractors will remove and replace the existing I-30 bridge over the KCS train tracks.
  • Re-entry to Interstate: Traffic will re-enter I-30 at the entrance ramp just before Stateline Avenue.

Traffic Configuration:

  • Mall Drive Lanes: The left two lanes on Mall Drive will be used for Interstate traffic, while the right lane will be for local Mall Drive traffic.
  • North Park Road Closure: North Park Road, which travels under the bridge is being demolished and will be closed.

  • Duration: This traffic setup is expected to last for about twelve months.

Local Traffic Advisory:

  • Potential Delays: Minor delays for local drivers on Mall Drive are expected.
  • Alternate Route: Non-Interstate traffic on Mall Drive will need to use the Jefferson Avenue entrance ramp in Arkansas after passing through the traffic lights at Stateline Avenue.
  • Safety Reminder: Drivers are encouraged to consider alternative routes and, if using Mall Drive, to slow down and exercise extra caution. (It is pretty tight!)

Stay informed and plan your routes accordingly to avoid delays and ensure safety during this period of construction.
