Some Texans might remember our States sesquicentennial celebration, it happened back in 1986. Houston threw a big-ole-party at the San Jacinto Battleground under the monument, Willie Nelson played there, Louise Mandrell, Asleep At The Wheel and more. I was there too, live broadcasting from the event at the first radio station I ever worked for. Guess what Texarkana? Your turn is in 2023, and plans are being made.

The Texarkana Sesquicentennial Committee, known as TXK150, has been working on this project for a while now to make sure Texarkana's cities and businesses have an opportunity to coordinate celebrations over the 150th anniversary of the sale of the first city lots in Texarkana, USA.

TXK150 plans to release a calendar of events on Thursday, December 8, 2022, highlighting events throughout 2023.

If you have a business or organization that would like to participate, simply fill out an online form to have your TXK150-themed event added to the calendar. Events must be family-friendly for approval to be included on the calendar. The deadline for submissions Friday, December 2, 2022.

We scoured the interwebs to find some of the silliest laws that are supposedly still on the books in my home State of Texas, and Lordy look what we found:
