Tim Lambert, Principal of Texas Middle School, has been selected to represent the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as the Region VIII Outstanding Middle School Principal of the Year.

TASSP recognizes outstanding principals from the twenty Regional Education Service Centers throughout the state.  School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions.  Nominations are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership.  As a Region VIII winner, Lambert is eligible to compete for the state title of the Texas Principal of the Year.

Lambert was named Principal of Texas Middle School in June 2013.  He began his career in education in 1993 and has served within elementary and secondary schools in our area as a teacher, coach and administrator.  Lambert served as Principal for Hughes Springs Elementary from 2002-2005, Principal for Daingerfield High School from 2008-2011 and Principal of Atlanta High School from 2011-2013, where he was named the TASSP Region VIII High School Principal of the Year in 2013.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University and holds a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce along with Principal and Superintendent Certifications.

Lambert served for ten years as a non-commissioned officer for the U.S. Air Force Reserves stationed at Barksdale Air Force.

Regional winners will be recognized during the Jostens Night of the Stars Awards Dinner at the 2019 TASSP Summer Conference in Austin.  If selected as a state winner by the TASSP Principals Image Committee, he will advance to compete for the NASSP Principal of the Year Award.
