Trumpeter Swans Are Considered the Largest Waterfowl in North America

According to Arkansas.com, the Trumpeter swans are beautiful, snow-white birds with black bills and an 8-foot wingspan, and are the largest waterfowl in North America, weighing up to 35 pounds. They often get mistaken for a Tundra swan because they look eerily similar. Trumpeter swans are much larger, though, and can be identified by their deep, resonant, trumpet-like call, and can live up to 25 years. Perhaps that's where those words "Play Me A Swan Song" come from.
