Two Suspects Arrested for Drug Possession on I-30
Texarkana Arkansas Police Officer Dakota Easley arrested 21 year-old DeWayne Franklin, of Wheatfield Connecticut, and 25 year-old Jermany Tiswell, of Marianna Arkansas, after discovering 10 pounds of marijuana, 4 pounds of THC oil, and ecstasy during a traffic stop om Tuesday, Feb. 19, at approximately 11:30PM.
According to a press release, Officer Easley pulled over a blue Hyundai Accent for following to close to an 18-wheeler at the 5 mile marker on I-30 Eastbound. As Officer Easley approached the vehicle to make contact with the driver a strong odor of burning marijuana was emitting from inside. Officer Easley requested backup due to the occupants behaving suspiciously. One of the occupants advised officers that his buddy had marijuana in the vehicle. During the vehicle search Officers located Narcotics and THC oil in sealed bags contained in a suitcase.
Both Franklin and Tiswell were arrested and charged with 2 counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
