Texarkana's Salvation Army eagerly anticipates National Salvation Army Week, set for May 13-19, 2024. For over a century, since 1896, The Salvation Army has been serving the Texarkana community every single day. Their commitment extends to aiding individuals and families in crisis, offering shelter to the homeless, providing meals to the hungry, and offering various other forms of assistance. 

Salvation Army Week was originally designated by the United States Congress and President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954, and was initially observed in November-December is now celebrated in May.

These days, the Salvation Army operates in 134 countries around the world, with a significant presence in the USA. Under the banner of "Love Beyond," the organization urges Americans to extend their compassion beyond life's challenges, offering hope and aid to millions.

Texarkana's Captain Juan Gomez, reflecting on the upcoming Week, expressed gratitude for the tireless dedication of volunteers, donors, and partners whose support has been vital in fulfilling the organization's mission in Texarkana.
