UAHT Professor Featured at Virtual Comic Con

Seriously, how cool is this? A professor at the University of Arkansas Hope Texarkana will bring his new play to life in an audio drama at a virtual comic con later this month.

University of Arkansas Hope Texarkana Professor's Audio Play Cosplay Cinderella

Hollis Cole Thompson is an English professor at UAHT and we will be able to experience his new play Cosplay Cinderella as an audio drama during the Multiverse FunRaiser, a virtual comic convention. The play is a modern twist on the beloved classic Cinderella set in the vibrant world of fandom.

What is Thompson's Play Cosplay Cinderella About?

According to a press release, in Thompson's play Cosplay Cinderella, the main character Ella is a dedicated costume designer working for her professional but evil cosplayer stepsisters. Her life will take a dramatic turn when she sneaks into a comic con and meets Samson Lee, the "prince" of the fandom scene.

When is The Multiverse FunRaiser and Where Can I Watch it?

The Multiverse FunRaiser is taking place Friday, January 24 through Sunday, January 26. This annual charity event benefits Comic Books for Kids, an organization that provides comics and toys to hospitalized children. We will be able to hear this audio drama as it will premiere on Sunday, January 26 at 5 PM and it will be available on YouTube and Facebook.

Thompson will be a part of other events during the virtual common, including an author panel to discuss his book Vivienne, a roundtable on X-Men and diversity, and a live episode of his podcast Sunday Morning Superheroes.

Stacker dug deep to find 30 celebrities who were previously college athletes. There are musicians, politicians, actors, writers, and reality TV stars.
