Wings & Blues Festival Brings Music, Food and Family Fun to Downtown Texarkana

Downtown Texarkana will be filled with music, food and community spirit when the Wings & Blues Festival takes over Front Street Festival Plaza on Saturday, June 27.

The free, family-friendly event runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 400 E. Front Street and features live blues music, wing vendors, cooking demonstrations, local vendors and special guest appearances throughout the day.

Special Tribute to DJ Godfather

One of the festival's highlights will be a special tribute honoring DJ Godfather (Curtis Muldew), a longtime promoter of Rhythm & Blues and Southern Soul music. With more than five decades in the industry, DJ Godfather has helped connect artists and audiences across the country while keeping blues and soul music alive for generations.

Festival-goers will also have the chance to hear him perform live as he takes over the turntables with a mix of blues, soul, and classic favorites.

Cooking with Cajun Returns

Popular entertainer and chef Cooking with Cajun is making his return to Downtown Texarkana, bringing authentic Louisiana flavor and live cooking demonstrations to the festival. Guests can expect plenty of laughs, great food and his famous jambalaya.

Tunnel 2 Towers Steel Across America - Texarkana Stop - June 3, 2026

On the 25th anniversary year of 9/11, this steel beam from the Twin Towers in New York that fell on September 11, 2001, is a must-see. The ceremony was very well done and featured short speeches from both Texarkana Mayors and Fire Chiefs. I know many in attendance weren't even alive when the attack happened 25 years ago, but for those of us who remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when the planes struck the towers, it was an amazing thing to see and touch. If you have the chance to witness this, you should. Find out more at T2T.org.
