If you are like many folks, starting this weekend families will start venturing outdoors to find places to go to observe Christmas lights. Over the past few days I've been sharing a few of my favorite places to do just that. One place I haven't mentioned yet, is the 31st Annual anniversary celebration of the Wonderland of Lights Festival in Marshall, Texas.

Thanks to the City of Marshall, Marshall Convention, Visitors Bureau and Marshall Main Street this year's theme has been designated "Candy Wonderland of Lights."  Millions of white lights adorn the historic Harrison County Courthouse located in the downtown area.

Special Events:

Lighted Christmas Parade  Saturday Dec. 2, 6PM - 9PM

Jingle Bell Run  Tuesday, Dec. 5, 6:30PM - 8PM

Outdoor Christmas Market  Saturday, Dec. 9, 11AM- 4PM

Tigers on Ice  Sunday, Dec. 3, 5PM - 9PM

Wonderland of Sites  Saturday, Dec. 16, 11AM - 4PM

Families can enjoy an outdoor skating rink, ride the Holly Trolly, Wonderland Express or a totally restored vintage 1948 Herschel carousel. Horse-drawn carriage rides will also be available for touring historic downtown Marshall. Make sure you take the kids to see Santa at the all-new Santa's Village. Enjoy holiday music in Telegraph Park from area schools, choirs and local artists.

Marshall is 73 miles from Texarkana, a short 1 hour and 20 minute drive to have some festive holiday fun with your family.
