It's hard to believe that some children might wake up Christmas morning with nothing, no stocking from Santa and no presents open. With the help of the Salvation Army's program that won't happen. and you have the chance to make a difference in a child's life.

The holiday season is about giving and here is your chance to make a difference for children in our area have a wonderful Christmas. When you participate in The Salvation Army's  Angel Tree Program or the Red Kettle Campaign, you are helping more than 100,000 children across Texas. That number could actually fill the Dallas Cowboys stadium.

Captain Juan Gomez III of The Salvation Army said in a press release;

“The Angel Tree program provides toys and clothing to children and families who might be struggling to afford Christmas gifts this year, thanks to the generosity of donors and businesses in the community. Angels are available for adoption by community members and businesses, who in no small way help deliver the magic and message of Christmas to those in need.”

If you've never adopted an Angel from an Angel tree before you are in for a unique experience. You can find the Salvation Army Angel Trees at the mall, Walmart and other businesses during the holiday season. The trees have angels on them, each one representing a child or senior who might not get any gifts at Christmas.

The paper angels have a list of what the child or senior might need or want. Then you get the opportunity to buy things on their Christmas wish list. I've participated in this program many times and each time knowing that you are giving exactly what they are wishing for is an incredibly personal and wonderful experience.

Look for the Angel Trees and make a difference in someone's life. According to a press release there were 674 angels that were adopted last year, and they expect 690 children to be enrolled in the program this year.
