Mark your calendar for Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 6PM to 9PM, citizens in neighborhoods across Texarkana, Arkansas will be turning their lights on and getting together with friends and neighbors for an evening outside to celebrate the “34th Annual National Night Out”.

National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and community partnerships.  National Night Out, a year-long community building campaign, is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime programs,  strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

According to a press release, representatives from the Police Department, Fire Department, and City Hall will start their visits this year at 6PM.  Officers and city personnel will be available for questions and you can share your concerns about police services in your neighborhood.

If you are interested in participating in this exceptional community event, please call and register your party at 903-798-3187 or by email at kbennett@txkusa.org .
