A  precautionary Boil Water Notice that was issued on Tuesday for Lakewood and Union Area residences in Texarkana, Arkansas has been rescinded the water is now safe to use.

Update June 26, 2024

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, the Arkansas Department of Health required the City of Texarkana, Arkansas public water system, ID 360, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions that occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled before use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided ADH with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling before use as of Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The loss of water was due to a water main break at 6905 East St. The properties affected are all of Lakewood and Union pressure plane, Texarkana, Arkansas.
