Texarkana is just days away from April 8, 2024, the day of the total solar eclipse, and people traveling to Texarkana for the Solarbration will get more than a historic eclipse.

Twice as Nice Twice as Fun

The 2024 Texarkana Solarbration will allow visitors coming to Texarkana to experience and watch the Great North American Eclipse while standing between two states, Texas and Arkansas in the heart of downtown.

Once the eclipse and the Emerald City Band finish, the fun will continue at Front Street Plaza. The band Kin Faux will play on the Loading Dock stage beginning at 3:30 PM. There is no entry fee for any of the downtown festivities on April 8, all events are FREE.

“I can’t think of a time in recent history that more has been happening downtown,” said Lisa Thompson, City of Texarkana, Texas External Affairs.

“From live music to experiential yoga, children’s theatre, the symphony, museum tours, cornhole, food trucks, and everything in between, it’s going to be a great weekend. The last time I counted, there were fifteen live performances planned for downtown.

“Since Texarkana is in the path of totality, we expect visitors to be in town and wanted to provide them with a free place to hang out, be entertained, and enjoy the eclipse in two states at once,” said Thompson. “Spring Lake Park will also be available for the public to park and view the eclipse.”
