Historic Washington Arkansas Hosts 49th Annual Jonquil Festival March 17-19
The arrival of spring is welcomed each year with a bounty of beautiful jonquils at Historic Washington State Park. Celebrate the season by shopping over a hundred arts and craft booths during the 49th annual Jonquil Festival, March 17-19, 2017. This according to a recent press release from Washington State Park, Arkansas.
Take time to tour the historic homes and grounds or take a surrey ride through this 19th century town. There will be live music, featuring country artist John King, Saturday, Mar 18 at 11AM. The Jonquil Festival will include something new this year, for the first time ever a singing competition on Saturday from 2PM – 4PM. If you would like to compete all you need to do is bring your own CD or musical instrument. Information about the singing competition can be found on their Facebook page.
In addition the Hope Evening Lions Club will be hosting a 5K run Saturday beginning at 7AM. Registration information here. There will be plenty of festival food along with a full buffet served at Williams Tavern Restaurant.
Festival admission is free, with a $5 parking fee Guided tours of museums are $9 for adults, $6 for children (6-12), age 5 and under are free.
