Today we honor the delicious ice cream sandwich. For over 100 years, Americans (and people around the world) have enjoyed these cold treats.

Ice cream sandwiches became popular in the United States around 1900, although there's print evidence the summer treat was around as early as 1894.

Other names for the Ice Cream Sandwich include "Sliders" (Scotland, Ireland), "Cream Betweens" (Australia) and the "Vanilla Slice" (New Zealand).
