A&M-Texarkana to Break Ground on New Athletic Complex

It's hard to believe it has been almost a year since this project was announced, and now it's almost time to start building it!! Texas A&M University-Texarkana will host the groundbreaking ceremony for the new RRCU (Red River Credit Union) Athletic Complex this Thursday, February 20, on the A&M-Texarkana campus.

Ground Breaking Ceremony at A&M Texarkana For New Sports Complex

This will be a special event for our area and you are invited. The ceremony starts at 11 AM and will be held at the west parking lot adjacent to the Bringle Lake Village residence hall.

The new complex will be constructed near Bringle Lake on the university's property and located conveniently between the main campus and University Avenue.

What Will The New A&M Texarkana Athletic Complex Have?

This beautiful new complex will have it all. It will have baseball and softball fields, also tennis courts, a sports performance center, a ticket booth, a food court, and an event center.

Several guest speakers will be on hand for the ceremony Thursday including the University President Dr. Ross Alexander, Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp, RRCU President Brad Bailey, RRCU Board of Directors Chairman Fred Milton, and A&M-Texarkana Director of Athletics Ryan Wall.

22 Sports Programs Offered at Texas A&M-Texarkana

The university is expecting some big changes soon as they will be offering more sports programs. By the fall of 2025 they will have doubled their sports programs from originally 11 sports offered to soon a whopping 22 sports.
