What was once deemed a mystery, called Project X,  is no longer a mystery for residents living in Fort Smith, Arkansas. 5News is reporting that Bass Pro Shops has received a building permit for a 70,000-square-foot "Outpost" superstore in Fort Smith in the former location of Best Buy.

The new building listed at $20,000,000 will be located on Rogers Avenue in central Fort Smith, near Highway 22 and Interstate 540. The Bass Pro Shops Outpost will offer outdoor enthusiasts a variety of hunting, fishing, biking, and hiking equipment.

City officials say the new store is sure to bring more job growth to the area, along with new job opportunities. The Bass Pro Shops Outpost is themed around a wooden outpost similar to a cabin or cottage. Outpost stores also feature boat sales, trophy fish, and wildlife mounts, and are not quite as big as a Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World.
