Blue laws. We have all heard of them but what exactly do they mean?

Basically, Blue Laws were put in place to prevent the sale of certain items on Sunday. Did you know that in Texas you couldn't sell pots, pans, nails, and washing machines? This part of the law went away in 1985.

But now a new bill is being presented by Richard Pena Raymond from Laredo.  H.B. 1100 which, if passed, would allow package liquor stores to open seven days a week. Currently, liquor stores Are only open Monday through Saturday.

The bill would also expand the hours that liquor stores can be open. It would allow stores to be open from 9 am to 10 pm, Monday-Saturday, and noon until 10 pm on Sundays.

If he can get more of his constituents on board it could happen. Do you think this is a good or bad idea?
