Army Awards Contract for Advanced Manufacturing in Texarkana at RRAD
A major federal investment is coming to Texarkana as the U.S. Army moves forward with a new advanced manufacturing project at Red River Army Depot (RRAD).
Army officials announced a contract award to Hadrian Automation Inc. to launch the first phase of an Advanced Automation Manufacturing initiative. The project will bring a state-of-the-art facility to RRAD, aimed at modernizing how critical components are produced for weapon systems, including small unmanned aerial systems.
Boosting Production and Supply Chain Strength with Texarkana Plan
The effort is part of the Army’s broader plan to upgrade its Organic Industrial Base, focusing on faster production, improved quality, and a more resilient supply chain.
The initial contract is valued at $39.2 million, with the potential to reach $80 million. Work on the Texarkana project is expected to be completed by March 16, 2027.
Army leaders say the investment reflects a shift toward using private-sector innovation to improve military readiness.
“To maintain a decisive edge, we must overhaul how we build and sustain our equipment,” said Brent Ingraham, emphasizing the importance of faster and more reliable manufacturing.
Expanding Advanced Manufacturing Across the Army
Officials say the Texarkana facility will play a key role in strengthening readiness by combining Army resources with industry expertise.
“This is about building the capability we need for the future force,” said Lt. Gen. Chris Mohan.

“This is exactly the kind of bold investment our national security demands, an innovative factory of the future, and I am proud it’s happening right here in Northeast Texas,” said Congressman Moran. Our region has the infrastructure, the expertise, and the commitment to get this done. I look forward to seeing RRAD lead the way in modernizing how our Army equips our warfighters.”
