Rib Eating Contest to Benefit Shop With a Cop Program Nov. 21
Mark your calendar for Thursday, Nov. 21, 6:30PM, as local law enforcement officers and firefighters from the Texarkana Ark. Police Department, Miller County Sheriff’s Department, and Texarkana Ark. Fire Departments, compete in their annual Rib Eating Contest at Silver Star Smokehouse 5205 West Park Blvd.
These highly trained officers and firefighters have been trained for a lot of things but will they have what it takes to down as many ribs as possible. It should be a lot of fun to watch and very messy too. Officers are ready to win and all they need is for everyone to come out and show support for these brave men and women, as they put their stomachs and mouths on the line. A portion of sales at Silver Star will be donated to Shop With a Cop. Monetary cash donations will also be accepted that evening.

This is a benefit fundraiser for the Shop with a Cop and Firefighter program.
Shop with a Cop is a yearly event where members of different law enforcement agencies come together and donate their own time to give the children of our community a Christmas to remember. The children who normally benefit from this program usually come from families struggling with finances or housing issues.
Law enforcement, firefighters, and first responders designate a day in December to meet with kids and give them $100 to go shopping at a local retail store, usually Walmart or Target.
