Walmart announced they will be ending their price matching program 'Savings Catcher' on May 14. What?

If you're like me you love a bargain. I've never been good at using coupons but when Walmart started the Saving Catcher, the price match tool on their App, it was easy by scanning a receipt within a week of purchase. The app tool would make a price scan of other retailers and if it found it lower somewhere Walmart would do a price match and credit you the difference. I kept using it even when they changed the rules and made it more difficult to use because you had to open the app and scan a bar code at the register. And now it will end soon.

It's true, I was at Walmart on Arkansas Blvd this weekend and one of the cashiers broke the bad news to me. When I got home I looked online and it seems I'm not the only one sad and mad to see the fun little app tool go away.

According to Business Insider :

Walmart said it's ending the program because it already offers the lowest prices in most cases.

Hmmm, seems I was getting money back money on quite a few of my purchases.

Below is what is stated on the Walmart app:

Important News: Savings Catcher will be discontinued on May 14. The last day to submit a Walmart Pay eReceipt to Savings Catcher for processing will be May 14, 2019. But don't worry – the money you have on your Savings Catcher eGift Card will remain yours to spend until you're ready to use it. Thanks for your participation.

Why do I have a feeling they were actually giving away way more money than they intended? Did you use the feature very often?
