The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, Iron Horses Shooting Sports Team, recently competed in the National Shooting Competition.

The event was held in San Antonio. Representing the college was Coach Chris Townsend and team members Lindsey Braden, Matthew Hall, Hunter Page, Clint Park, and Hayden Hamilton. The team competed in skeet, international skeet, trap, international trap, 5-stand and sporting clays.

“It was a great experience to compete at this level and represent the college.  I even shared the experience in a recent speech assignment and encouraged my classmates to try out next year," said Clint Park.

The members set several personal records and did well overall. In trap competition, the team placed 19 out of 41 teams and outperformed teams from much larger institutions like University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and the United States Naval Academy team to name a few.

The Team will also compete in the Arkansas Collegiate Shoot in Tillar, Ark.
