Texarkana Arkansas Police responded to a stabbing on Tuesday evening, May 3, in the 5100 block of North Stateline Avenue.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they observed an individual lying on the ground bleeding and being cared for by a bystander. After the police officers arrived they rendered aid and then called for an ambulance. The victim told police that the suspect was Patrick Ardwin. The stabbing victim was taken to a local hospital and later was reported to be in stable condition.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division and TAPD officers began searching the area for the suspect and speaking with anyone in the area who was a possible witness. While looking for evidence, Officers and detectives located fresh blood in the neighboring hotel also in the 5100 block of North Stateline Avenue, Texarkana, Arkansas. It is unsure at this time where the stabbing occurred.

Officers found the suspect in the back of a vehicle parked in a nearby parking lot. The man was identified as 34-year-old Patrick Ardwin of Ashdown, Arkansas.  Ardwin was transported to the Miller County Jail where he was charged with Battery in the 2nd Degree and was booked.
