UPDATE:

The Texarkana Arkansas Patrol Division located and arrested Trenkale Brunson, 29 years of age of Texarkana, Arkansas. Brunson was wanted for three felony charges;

  • Murder in the 1st Degree
  • Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons
  • Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle.

The warrant stemmed from a shooting in the 300 block of Martin Luther King Blvd. earlier on Monday, June 20, 2022; the result of the shooting claimed the life of a 37-year-old male from Texarkana, Arkansas. Brunson is the alleged suspect in the case. Mr. Brunson was booked into the Miller County Jail and is now awaiting court procedures.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Texarkana Arkansas Police are searching for shooting suspect Trenkale Brunson who is believed to be involved in a shooting incident that took place on Monday, June 20 in Texarkana, Arkansas.

In a report on the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department's Facebook Page officers were dispatched on Monday around noon to a reported shooting in the 300 block of Martin Luther King Blvd, and the 700 block of Laurel Street in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Officers arrived to the first shooting location on MLK and found a dark-colored sedan had crashed into a residence. Officers found the two occupants in the vehicle, the driver of the appeared to be a gunshot victim and a female passenger possibly injured from the crash. The driver and the passenger were both transported to a local hospital. The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital, and his identity has been held until the next of kin can be notified. The female’s identity is also being kept due to her being a victim in the case.

TAPD Detectives arrived at the scene and began speaking to witnesses and following up on leads. Subsequently, a warrant has been issued for Trenkale Martinez Brunson, 29, from Texarkana, Arkansas. Brunson is wanted for Murder in the 1st Degree, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
