Texarkana Native Celebrates Marine Corps Birthday With Fun Run
The United States Marine Corps just celebrated its 248th birthday last week and you know how we love highlighting and saluting our troops, well, here's another chance for us to do just that.
You know the old saying; "once a Marine, always a Marine". There is a pride that goes with the service in any branch of our nation's military, but the Marines especially know they are the toughest of the tough, and really, who's gonna argue with them about it?
Not I, said the radio guy.
Thanks to the photographers and videographers in the Defence Visual Information Service, better known as DVIDS, we get the chance to occasionally feature a hometown hero, like this one below:
U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Keahi Soomanstanton
Lance Cpl Soomanstanton is a combat videographer, and a native of Texarkana, AR. He is pictured here participating in the Marine Corps Base Quantico Birthday Run on MCBQ, Virginia, Nov. 9th, 2023.
Each year, Marines all over the world come together to celebrate birthday ceremonies that recall the history of the Corps and enhance the camaraderie shared across generations of Marines.
We salute you and your fellow Marines not just on the Corps' birthday or on Veterans Day, but every day around these radio stations.
There they go... Semper Fi Marines, thank you all for your service, past, present, and future.
