Texarkana Police Investigate Early Morning Fatality Accident
Texarkana, Texas Police are investigating an early morning fatality accident that claimed one person's life and injured another.
At 6:36AM this morning, officers responded to a major crash at Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. and Summerhill Road. Upon arrival, officers say they located a 1993 green Ford Mustang and a 2016 white Ford F-250 on Summerhill Road just south of the intersection.
The driver of the Mustang, James Rose, 64, of Texarkana, Texas, was dead when officers arrived. The driver of the F-250, 35 year old Lucas Berry of Texarkana, Ark., suffered minor injuries. Traffic investigators determined the Mustang was traveling south on Summerhill in the left lane and the F-250 was traveling north on Summerhill turning west onto Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.
Authorities say they have determined Rose was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Traffic investigators are still investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
